girls

...and their hair.

We have a nice little studio gallery here at Nickelodeon, and this month it was dedicated to art by the R & M crew. I am, of course, biased (hehe)--but I thought it was a really great show. I'm lucky to work with such tremendously talented artists :)

Here are the two pieces I did. They came out rather small (both under 5x7''), and were done in watercolor (acrylic for the girl-inking). And because I thought it was interesting, I've included the color palettes for their respective paintings. I got lazy and mixed right on the paper, those were all the colors I used. The scanner killed some of the colors :(

And the original sketches, if you're interested:

  1. These are really cool Carrie, they kinda remind me of forest nymphs. Love the colors.

  2. Beautiful! I should have come to see these in person, but I was socially detoxing after a really long week.

  3. I can definitely relate to scanners killing colors, but these look lovely! Even the palettes are nice!
